Frequently asked questions
1. What medium is used in the paintings?
I use mostly acrylic paint and sometimes add touches of watercolor and ink.
2. What will the commission work be painted on?
I mostly use heavy paper for my paintings. It works well with the paint that I use, is easy to cut especially for the requested painting size, can be easily framed and light weight to keep the shipping cost fairly low.
3. Can the image be painted on a surface other than heavy paper?
Yes, but I would prefer not to.
Any other surface (such as canvas, wood panel or anything else you have in mind) will cost you extra, both because of the material expense and the higher shipping cost.
4. How much does the commission cost?
It depends a lot on the subject matter and the complexity of image that you provide. Rough estimate is $0.5 per square inch, so if you commission an 11x14” painting, the cost will be around $80.
I require a 50% payment upfront to begin my work once we discussed and agreed on all the terms of the commission and the other 50% upon completion. Unless ordered through other websites where the full payment is upfront (but also includes buyer and seller protection).
5. How long does the commission work take?
With fluid and fast communication, it can be done within 3 days or so, depending on the size. If there will be any delay on my part, I will let you know.
6. What are the available payment options?
I only accept payment via PayPal.
If you order through other websites that I work with such as Sketchmob and Etsy, other payment options are available.
7. How will the painting be packed and shipped?
The painting will be placed in a padded envelope together with same size foam board to prevent it from being folded. Bigger paintings will be rolled in a mailing tube.
I use the Canada Post and when it will reach your country, it will be handled by your local postal service. Regular shipping will be covered in the cost of the commission, registered or premium shipping (with tracking number) will be extra cost.
8. How long does the shipping take?
Anywhere between 3 to 14 business days, around holidays it might take longer.
9. Do you offer refunds?
I will only give a refund if I am unable to complete the commission, for whatever reason.
